To know the proper size of a water softener for your home, it is important to determine two things:
- Your average daily household water use (not including outdoor use). An average person consumes about 49-60 gals. per day (186-227 liters). These statistics can be found on your local water/utility bill.
- The average grains of hardness in your tap water.
