Hard water is the type of water that is high in mineral content. Water will dissolve a portion of anything it comes in contact with such as:

  • Minerals
  • Rocks
  • Waste Matter
  • Gasses
  • Dust
  • Foreign Substances

Hard water is generally not harmful.

SYMPTOMS OF HARD WATER

  • White spotting on glassware
  • White scale deposits on tubs, tiles, faucets & scaling in your kettle
  • You will notice that you have a hard time getting soap to lather. This will result in using more soap products ie: laundry, dish soap, shampoo, etc.

LOCAL CITY GRAINS OF HARDNESS

Water is judged based on grains of hardness. Below are the local city’s grains of hardness:

  • Brantford, Ontario is typically 25 grains hard
  • Paris, Ontario is between 35-40 grains hard
  • Cambridge, Ontario area is between 25-35 grains hard
